Arcor opens new industrial plant in Angola

Arcor inaugurated its first industrial plant outside Latin America. Where? In Angola, Africa.

With this new inauguration, the group went on to have a total of 48 industrial plants, 37 of which are located in Argentina.

It took an investment of 45 million dollars to create this new plant which, today, is the largest establishment dedicated to the production of chocolates, sweets and cookies in the region. The industrial warehouse has a size of 12,000 m2 and has the latest equipment and up-to-date technology.

Why Africa?

Arcor has been exporting to Angola for 30 years now. They consider this one to be a very important market, which is why they aim to diversify the product offer in the Angolan market. In the future, they will seek to supply all of sub-Saharan Africa, mainly South Africa, Mozambique, Congo, Namibia, Zambia and Botswana.

What will they produce?

Chocolates, cookies and candies from well-known brands that are fully recognized locally, such as Bon or Bon chocolate bites, Maná, Serranitas, Triunfo and Merci biscuits, the classic Arcor candies and even Sambapito lollipops. Even though the recipes will remain intact, the packagings will be altered in order to satisfy the needs and preferences of African consumers.

The new plant has 150 workers from different countries, including Argentina, Brazil, Italy and Angola. It is estimated that Arcor Angola could be producing 3,700 tons of Bon o Bon, 7,000 tons of sweet and savory cookies and approximately 5,000 tons of sweets per year.
