How To Cure Or Prime A Wooden, Carob Or Algarrobo Mate Gourd
Curing a mate means preparing it for its use, so that its porosity is reduced and the material does not affect the flavor of your mate.
1. Clean your mate gourd with warm water.
2. Fill it with moisten used yerba and add warm water.
3. Leave overnight, remove yerba and clean.
4. Add a thin layer of vegetable oil or butter to seal its pores and extend its life.
