About Havanna
Over 70 years ago, after many failed attempts and frustrations, a small bakery just south of Buenos Aires discovered a unique recipe for alfajores. Havanna was born. Havanna alfajores traditionally combine delicious soft cookies, chocolate, and mouth-watering dulce de leche (milk caramel) inside. To our delight, they have created many other flavors and special editions that continue to make Havanna a favorite in Argentina and beyond.
What is an Alfajor?
Alfajores are sweet snacks made with two round cookies and a sweet filling between them. The most popular filling is dulce de leche, although there are many variations. They can be covered with powdered sugar (traditional style), glazed sugar, grated coconut, or chocolate. Argentina is one of the world’s biggest alfajor lovers, and they are enjoyed by everyone — from schoolkids to adults — as an everyday treat and a classic gift.
