"One of the most popular yerba mate products in Argentina, Rosamonte Tradicional definitely deserves a permanent place on the shelf of every mate drinker. Don’t start with this mate though if you are new to this drink, let your palate evolve first. For experienced materos who for some reason haven’t tried it yet, Rosamonte Tradicional is a must-try yerba mate, and getting it should be your top priority. A great showcase of Argentine yerba mate at its finest."

"Rosamonte is different. With its bold and strong flavors, you’d expect it to be long-lasting. But no. Rosamonte likes to keep it short and sweet, and I have no problem with that. After trying it myself, I can see why it’s so popular. For those who love a mate that can burst with flavor, you won’t be disappointed with Rosamonte. However, it does lack complexity. Its taste is linear and unwavering. So if you enjoy the first sip, you’ll enjoy the rest. If you don’t, you might want to look elsewhere." -- Yerba Mate Lab
About the producer
In 1936 Mr. Demetrio Hreñuk, son of Ukrainian immigrants, founds a family business with the active collaboration of his wife Catalina, dedicated at the beginning to the plantation, harvest and drying of yerba mate (Paraguayan tea). He purchases his first mill in 1966 and begins marketing yerba mate. This is the beginning of Rosamonte yerba mate.

Nose
The smell of Rosamonte Tradicional is moderately sharp and dusty with strong inherent notes of dry wood and hay. It also smells a bit sour and despite the fact that it is made with their trademark barbacua method (fast drying over an open fire) I only pick up slightly smoky notes in the nose of this mate.
Cut
Rosamonte Tradicional has very distinctive cut amongst Argentine yerba mate. It is very coarse - the leaves are grinded into huge chunks and stems are very thick and short, it seems that they are coming not from the stems of the plant, but from its branches. The amount of stems is very generous as well as the amount of powder - Rosamonte Tradicional is quite dusty for Argentine yerba mate.
Aged for 12 months, this mate develops a very interesting color - it has almost has no green hue at all, making it very non-saturated beige-gray.

Rosamonte Tradicional
I'm a journalist. More than 30 years ago, an assignment took me to Misiones province where yerba is grown, and I tasted every one I could. Rosamonte Tradicional was my favorite, and still is, every morning. Many thanks to Pampa Direct for importing it, and for your quick deliveries.
